'Passion Of Plastic' was one of the first pieces I created. I came up with the idea while reading a book about one of my personal heroes Muhammad Ali. In 1968, he appeared on the cover of Esquire magazine. The cover was a reimagining of the painting 'Passion of Christ' and was done to represent the persecution and victimisation of Ali at the time. I wanted to use this message to help promote an important cause, that of plastic pollution and the way that nature, and especially marine life is being persecuted for our addiction to plastic.
